Waiting for Colosseum

rome_colosseum

Colosseum, Rome, Italy

See the line? We were waiting there for an about hour before getting in the Colosseum. Fun thing is that we already had tickets so the line we were in was even shorter than the line for those not having tickets. People are crazy. There was this Finnish couple in front of us in the queue so at least we had someone to talk with. All of us agreed that there was surprisingly few Finns in Rome but it was probably because of the unbearable heat. No one had warned the four of us that going to Rome in August would be death for us who have used to under 30°C summers.

Tale of Touristy Hats

tourists_rome

Touristy life, Rome, Italy

This is photo from the first day of my and my mom’s Rome holiday. This is also story of the touristy hats that I kept seeing everywhere. My mom had bought her hat back at home and I was laughing when she told me to get one. I should have believed her. Mom is always right (expect when you are trying to find Vatican… but that’s story for other time!) First day went well and I saw almost everyone using those touristy hats. It was over 30 degrees in Rome and we were literally dying.

Then second day after our amazing trip to Vatican I got sick from the sun. Sunstroke. I haven’t had one probably after I was kid. Fortunately, I only got it when we were returning to our hotel. We used tram and there was no air conditioning. The short walk to our hotel on sun was like torture. Then I slept rest of the day while my mum went to eat and came back with some random food and medicine for me.

Next day I bought touristy hat for myself right away we exited the hotel. I had to pay A LOT. But at least I survived without getting sick for the rest of my trip.

I don’t have crush on Spiderman…

travel_bremen

Suspicious Side Alley, Bremen, Germany

I could say that I don’t have crush on Spiderman but I doubt that anyone would believe me. It’s not even my fault because I have long history of falling for fictional characters and Spiderman was one of the first not so real love interests I had. My deep love for this character that has lasted for years is mainly because his humor (more in the comics and cartoons than in Spiderman movies) but also because who doesn’t love men in thigh red suits?

This photo was taken in Bremen and I could not skip stopping to have small photography session with this graffiti. Not even if the area seemed kind of suspicious and there was a few not so kind looking locals staring me oddly. But hey what wouldn’t traveler do for forbidden love?

Summer Day From Storybook

Bremen Travel Photos

BREMEN, GERMANY

It’s easy to see why popular story ‘The Bremen Town Musicians’ happens in Bremen. This city is like photo from storybook. Just look at the wind mill. This photo has taken in the central Bremen even if it looks like scene from peaceful countryside. Bremen is just perfect destination for those who want to see something idyllic but still live in busy neighborhood.

Waterfall and new friend

waterfall japan

There is this big greenhouse place in Tokyo and this is waterfall from there. I also have fun story to go with this photo.

I had Tokyo grutto pass that gives you free admission to many attractions. Greenhouse dome was one of them. I went in took some photos and was quite awed. The nature is totally different from what I used to. However I had quickly sir led around the whole place and decided to leave. On my way out I saw place where they taught origami. Of course I went to learn!

My origami didn’t go well but something good came out of it. The place had free voluntary guides and one of them spotted me. She asked if I would like to get tour around and of course I said yes. (This trip was meant to be full of mew experiemces!) I got long lesson about Japan’s nature and got good sightseeing tips from the local guide.

She also told me that I was the first ever guest to get English tour from her! How cool is that? After the tour I recommend her to do it more often because her English was excelent and the stories interesting.

Memories

juustoportti

It’s cow! But not just any cow… this is literally my childhood. Somewhere in Finland we have this place named “Juustoportti” that is just quite normal restaurant/cafe/stop over/gas station. I have stopped here countless of times on our way towards the northern Finland.

One thing never changes here and it is this real sized fake cow. You can even milk water out of it! Nowadays seeing this cow makes me kind of nostalgic and sad. I’m not visiting here with my family anymore but I’m all by myself. The life is going too fast!

My future homes

Tallinn Old Town Buildings Wall

I would love to live in house like this. Or in fact anywhere in Tallinn’s old town. I have habit of taking photo of every dreamy future home I see. This one took my attention because the scary drop from the window. I hate high places but I also love putting myself to situations I dislike. So this would be perfect place for me to live.

Rainy Day in Tallinn

tallinn14

More Tallinn photos! It was rainy so some of my photos look very dark and or stormy even if there was blue sky above the city. I totally loved this view. I want to live in place like this! Full of old buildings, princess towers and scary legends…

Urban Helsinki

urban city buildings Helsinki

Isn’t the best feeling in traveling when you find something beautiful but hidden? That was just what I felt after snapping this photo. For me the blue building, river, green leaves and that window make perfect combination.
